Why an Event Blog?

Event planning and organizing.. what a beautiful topic!

Welcome! This blog is about events, which will critically evaluate an in-action event I am currently working on, the Mixed Doubles Provincial Curling Championship (MDPCC), being held in Lethbridge Alberta, Canada in February 2020. For this event, I am Co-Chairing with another individual, and we are both new to planning this type of event. There will be many learning and growth opportunities. I will use this event to evaluate specific areas that will demonstrate:

• context

• audience

• delivery and operations

• impacts (social and cultural)

• potential improvement and

• continued professional development (CPD)

These areas will help evaluate the MDPCC event and the Event Management Process, as we work our way towards hosting the event in 2020!
