For those of you who have heard Luke Bryan's song "Most People are Good" you can appreciate the words this man speaks.
In today's culture, it can be difficult to see the good in any situation, not just people.
"I believe this world ain't half as bad as it looks"
This world is not near as bad as we think it is. We as a society tend to gravitate towards negative thoughts, aspirations and goals. We believe we cannot achieve a personal goal because we fear failure. Half of our battles and lack of "success" come from our fear of failure. I quote "success" because this is another area we define within our personal and professional lives, and success can be defined in so many ways. What it really comes down to is happiness. If you are happy, you are successful. We do not necessarily need monetary or physical incentives to be successful - although, this is different for every person.
Back to the fear of failure - Why are we driven by fear and not happiness? It is quite intriguing when you begin thinking about this. If you are truly happy and love yourself, fear does not drive you - your desire to grow and be happy does.
"I believe that if you just go by the nightly news, your faith in all man kind would be the first thing you lose"
This world holds so much good, but our minds are filled with all the negative situations that we begin to believe that is how our world operates.
Don't you believe most people are good? Don't you believe that people want the best in this world? If not, why? And I mean really why?
I challenge you to sit, put on your favourite music in the background:
Write down the good in your life, at least 10 things.
Write down what you are grateful for, at least 5 things.
Write down areas you want to increase positivism within your life, at least 2.
Over the next two weeks, I challenge you to work on these, and really focus on it. When you have a negative thought, acknowledge it and change it, right then and there. It may be hard, but may be worth it. Till next time.. Be you. Live your truth.
